Modify DNS temporarily for your system

Sometimes I cannot get to sites that I have just created but I know their IP. So rather than waiting for DNS to propagate over the Internet, I modify the hosts file so I can work. On Windows XP, the hosts file is located at C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

The syntax for the hosts file is:

127.0.0.1 localhost
